Pyrimidine Matchbook- students figure out where adenine, cytosine, guanine and thymine fit in and how they bond together. ✿ DNA mini model- A paper model which students construct nucleotides to form a DNA molecule. ✿ Size Sequence- an accordion fold that gives students a visual on where DNA is located and how it sizes up compared to cells. ✿ Nucleotide Book Fold- students determine the three parts of a nucleotide and the 4 nitrogen bases. ✿ DNA Shape Fold- an introductory tool in which students determine DNA's function, structure, and location. ✿ Structure of DNA Discovery Map- Franklin, Watson, Crick, Chargaff DNA Interactive Notebook- 11 engaging activities that cover DNA structure, DNA replication, and the discovery of DNA, inlcuding: Evolutionary Classification- using the classic example of crabs, limpets, and barnacles, and how their classification has changed with new findings.ģ. ✿Molecular Clocks- how we can use mutations to help determine evolutionary time. ✿Kingdom Pizza Wheel- Have students list information that you think they need extra help with. Could also be used as homework or classwork. ✿Kingdom Warm up- a fill-in-the-blank warm up or bellringer for the 6 kingdoms. ✿Taxonomy Ladder Warm Up- students color each organism listed that matches the description from Domain to Species (can be used as homework or classwork). ✿Taxonomy Ladder- A flip up taxonomy ladder with a real life example that students can use for reference.

✿Interpreting Diagrams- Students look at a "snippet" of the animal kingdom and use it to answer questions about how related (or unrelated) groups of organisms are.

Students determine characteristics among the 6 kingdoms and use them to fill in the a chart. ✿Domain and Kingdom Branch- this makes great note taking or review. ✿Classification Reverse Flip Book- students can choose any species they'd like (usually it ends up being their favorite plant or animal) and classify it using this flip book. ✿Classification Cards -6 Cards for each Kingdom: Animalia, Fungi, Plantae, Protista, Archaea, Eubacteria Classification Interactive Notebook- 10 items that cover taxonomy and how organisms are classified, including: ✿ Eukaryotic and Prokaryotic Feature Fold ✿ Scientist Contributions to the Cell Theory Map Included in the cells interactive notebook are over 18 activities: Cells Interactive Notebook- 16 activities that cover the differences among prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells, plant and animal cells, as well the anatomy of cells, and cell theory. This unit can be used as a stand alone curriculum or as part of an existing curriculum.ġ. There is a wide range of activities to choose from, including differentiated activities for different levels. This set includes interactive notebook activities for 8 topics throughout biology.
